As Lumen Christi concludes our yearlong Active Membership campaign, we want to thank all our loyal readers! It is hard to believe a whole year has come and gone already since we first started the campaign, but hopefully, the Four Pillars of Active Membership (Formal Registration, Weekly Mass Attendance, Regular Financial Contributions, and Participation in at least One Volunteer Ministry) has become more familiar, more accepted, and less intimidating as we weave what was once a new concept into the fabric of the parish.
If you have not yet registered at the parish, it is never too late - now is the time! If you have not yet made a formal financial pledge to the parish, your timing is perfect – the Annual Pledge Campaign is ongoing. Joining a Volunteer Ministry is easy and something that will give you a sense of accomplishment and purpose. It will increase your faith no matter the amount of time donated or the ministry chosen. As St. Paul wrote in the letter of Colossians today, “let us give thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light”. Donating your time, talent, and treasure is a great way to give thanks to the Father for all He has done for us.
We heard in today’s Gospel where Luke quoted a repentant sinner who said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." The Four Pillar Active Membership Campaign is our offer to you to become a full-fledged member of Lumen Christi. If accepted, you are no longer on the sidelines… you are actively participating and giving something back to the Lord. Now is your chance to make a difference, your reward in the kingdom will be great! Do not miss the opportunity to become part of this “one family sharing the love and light of Christ”.
