In today’s gospel, one of the disciples asked Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Jesus goes on to give us the Our Father, probably one of the first prayers that each of us learned. Many of us can recite it automatically, so if you are like me, you might take its transformative and powerful words for granted. But this week’s gospel passage does not stop there. Jesus goes on and gives us a parable to reiterate His point: seek God above all things. Go to Him. Ask and you will receive.
One area that we might take for granted is how we are so fortunate at Lumen Christi with the many programs that are offered for our spiritual benefit and growth. Spiritual, formational, and prayerful opportunities abound! All of these are made possible through the generous and regular financial contributions of the active parishioners at Lumen Christi. Thank you to all who have contributed for your continued generosity! If you are new to the parish and would like to formalize your giving, there are several ways to do that. Information can be found on the giving page of the parish website or by calling the parish office (262) 242-7967.
