Have you noticed the Catholic Social Doctrine Quotes in the bulletin and wondered why are they in our bulletin and what does it have to do with you?
Well, The Human Concerns Commission is excited to have started this new series in an effort to raise greater awareness and education on what the Church teaches in these key areas. Each week, you see a quote from either Sacred Scripture or Tradition that emphasizes why Catholics are called to love God and their neighbor in a unique way.
The Parable of the Mustard Seed in Matthew 13 states: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person ontook and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and ‘birds of the sky comes and dwell in its branches’" (Mt 13:31-32). These quotes are like little seeds that can nourish us bring about changes to our lifestyles or habits so that we spread the Gospel message and allow the world to thrive in love.
