Service Opportunities and Information for Middle & High School Youth
Why We Serve
Serving others is not an optional part of our faith or an add-on when we have time. It is one of the most important things Christ commanded us to do - a powerful expression of our belief in Jesus and His love working through us to touch others. It helps us grow in charity and self-sacrifice, and it affirms the dignity of the people we serve, who are made in God’s Image and Likeness just as we are.
Jesus says, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Read Matthew 25:31-46 to see just how important this is!

WOW Project: Service and Leadership by Teens, for Teens!
The WOW Project is led by a group of student leaders and adult mentors who coordinate year-round opportunities for HS students in Mequon to come together to serve local charitable organizations, Lumen Christi, and individuals in the Mequon area and beyond.
WOW stands for Walk On Water, highlighting our Faith in Christ and our aspiration to follow in His footsteps, particularly in the way He loved and served others. Jesus told His disciples, "Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant….’” (Mark 10:42)
