The Angel Tree is a long-standing tradition at Lumen Christi, which ensures that those who are experiencing poverty are able to provide a meaningful Christmas celebration for their children. This year's Angel Tree will benefit the Kinship Community Food Center, Christ Child Society, & Ladies of Charity Clothing Center.
Parishioners volunteer to be “an Angel” by taking an angel tag off the Christmas tree in the narthex. The angel has a person's age & sex listed for a gift item to be purchased. The gift is returned by December 15, unwrapped, to the parish's north entrance with the angel tag attached.
Please keep in mind that these gifts benefit predominantly African-American, Afro-Caribbean, and Hispanic populations, so please consider a culturally sensitive gift.
Gift Distrbution
The gift distribution will take place on Saturday, December 20. (Note: this year’s set up will take place on Friday, December 19.) Volunteer sign up will be coming soon!
