The Knights of Columbus St Pope John XXIII Council 5438 in Mequon have announced the winners of its 2025 8th grade Catholic Citizen Essay Contest. This contest gives students an opportunity to define the role of a Catholic Citizen in many different scenarios and strengthens the bond between the Knights of Columbus, Lumen Christi school, and public schools. The theme this year, appropriate given the new election of a pope, was “There have been 267 Popes since Jesus Christ who laid the foundation for the Catholic Church. Who are your 3 favorite popes? Why?”
